Message Grab a beer this is a tad long..

To start off, When I did my 5 speed swap in Late January I looked around for clutchs and found there were few choices in styles.
Either I get a street clutch I can't race with for fear of glazing and ruining in no time or a heavy feeling, high clamp load plate with puck design disk that is hard to drive on the street.

I called around a few places many with no answer or call back.

I left a message at Southbend clutch and within 10 minutes a return call asking what they can do for me.

I explained I was looking for a clutch set-up for my car that had stock pedal feel (since I was going to be using a NA pedal assy with no booster) streetable/easy to drive and something that would last with some occasional racing and abuse and would hold up at my power level. And lastly wouldnt cost me an arm and leg!!

We began working on putting a clutch together specifically for the Twin Turbo that would have all of this and this is what we came up with.

"DXD clutchs" OFE HD series stage 3 clutch.

The goal with this unit is to make a clutch that is high torque and really easy to drive. One that will have stock like pedal pressure and a smooth but positive engagement. Plus it will last a very long time.

Other clutch companies use either too much plate load with an cheap disc facing that over heats, or, a moderate plate load with a puck disc that engages harshly and grooves the flywheel.

The DXD Stage 3 OFE has the best of both worlds.

The pressure plate has a moderate plate load increase; aprox 260 lbs over stock. It is the HD (heavy duty) series. We do make a 2500 lb pressure plate which is the SS (super sport) in the catalog and is used with the stage 4 and 5 in both the STREET series and the TRACK series clutch kits.

The disc uses a medium metal content lining on the Pressure plate side and a Feramic lining on the FW side. Both are high torque, engage smooth and dissipate heat very quickly. Any friction material that runs cool will not break down as fast.

Here is how the kit breaks down: tq ratings are approximate

STREET HD series (1965# PLATE LOAD) FULL FACE DISC
STAGE 3 OFE 525 TQ

I now have about 6-700 miles on mine and I absolutly love it.
It engages very smooth yet very precise.
Pedal is very easy to push, easy as stock.
I have done a few launches on it and all I can say is WOW.

The clutch is built very well.
I requested a fully encloused spring style disk because over my years of being a tech usually what i see in a disk failure is the springs fall out of the sprung hub, this is what we came up with.
Fully encased springs in the disk

This is the "Feramic" lined flywheel side

Medium metal organic lined PP side.

Valeo Pressure plate, Also very high quality.

There are other options to this clutch for even more holding power but I think this kit will do for the majority of us.

If you need something other than this or want a full race setup email me and I will get you the info you need.

We also have clutchs for the NA guys at great prices.

We are currently working on a NA size set-up with a full face feramic on both sides of the disk that will easily hold TT power for the guys that are doing TT swaps and want to use a NA flywheel/trans. "AbsoluteZ" will more than likley be the "gunnie pig" for this one:) since he WILL be doing his tt swap next winter hopefully and will be autocrossing all summer to try it out.

This clutch will be in NA size but instead of having one side feramic and one side organic it will have a full face feramic on both sides of the disk for the ultimate in holding power in a NA size set-up.

It is HIGHLY reccomended that you resurface your your flywheel or replace it with any new clutch.

All kits come complete with Disk, Pressure plate, TOB and pilot bushing.
